petco foundationWe are so grateful to the Petco Foundation for the $1.5 million grant to continue our lifesaving work in Fulton and DeKalb counties. You can say “I'm In” by helping 20,000 dogs and cats find loving homes over the next three years!

On April 5th, the Petco Foundation presented LifeLine Animal Project with a Lifesaving Impact Grant of $1.5 million to recognize the organization’s significant work in helping to transform Atlanta into a lifesaving community. The award will be distributed over the course of three years to help LifeLine continue efforts to achieve and sustain a no-kill status in Atlanta. This is the largest investment the Petco Foundation has made to an animal welfare sheltering organization.

Since taking over the two largest county shelters in 2013, Lifeline has successfully increased the lifesaving rates to over 90% at the Fulton County Animal Services shelter since November 2015 and above 90% in March 2016 at the DeKalb County Animal Services shelter. Lifeline is making history, as this is the first time an open admission shelter has achieved the no-kill, 90% lifesaving threshold in metro Atlanta. The ability to sustain this important achievement will now be even more attainable due to the generous support of the Petco Foundation.

LifeLine will leverage the three-year award to focus on reaching and sustaining no-kill rates by increasing adoptions, staff training and veterinary care support in the shelters. LifeLine is encouraging Atlanta residents to show their support for the lifesaving mission by saying “I’m In” and adopting 20,000 dogs and cats over the next three years.

Help us reach the goal of finding homes for 20,000 of our city’s neediest animals by spreading our mission and challenge with your networks. For more information on how you can participate and be “In,” visit our campaign page here. Help us spread the #adoptlocal message today.

On behalf of all the animals in our care, we thank the Petco Foundation for their immeasurable support of our work to save homeless animals and improve the standard of care for pets in our city.
